Voice Instructor

Salary

$36-$40 an hour

Job Type

Part-Time, Contract

Shift & Schedule

Monday - Wednesday, Weekends as needed

Work Location

In-Person | 71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica, MA 01862

Responsibilities

We are looking for a voice instructor for private and group lessons to join us for at least the remainder of the '24 school year and summer programs with preference given to applicants who are interested in a more long-term arrangement. Specifically, we're looking for a teacher who is comfortable working with and guiding students through voice changes.

Responsibilities would be to meet with students one-on-one (in-person preferably) working on technique, music theory, ear training, and song rep. We try to encourage students to participate in recitals twice a year, so instructors should be involved in that process and encourage students to take advantage of performance opportunities.

There is also the option to offer and teach group classes that typically last 8-10 weeks. As long as there are interested students we provide a lot of freedom to our teachers to offer classes that align with their interests.

We ask our teachers to communicate with parents how students are progressing. This can be done either by email or after lessons conclude.

Experience & Education

  • BM in music with voice as the primary study

  • 1 year of private or group teaching experience

Benefits

  • Flexible schedule

COVID-19 considerations:

We have transitioned to a mask-optional policy in common areas of the studio, but teachers set the policy for maks in their lessons. We installed air purifiers in each classroom. Students that are symptomatic should test and reschedule when needed.
